Last Call - Free Summer Camp for Adults!

This is the last call for any registered adult that may be interested in spending an all expenses-paid week with the troop this summer (June 25 to July 1) at Hale Scout Reservation. Only two spots remain open. Please contact summercamp@troop1001.org no later than noon on Thursday May 4 if you would like to volunteer for this event.

Spring Court of Honor: 5/28 During Battleship Texas Campout - Advancement Due 5/15!

The final Court of Honor for this Scout year is planned for 5/28 during the Battleship Texas/Schlitterbahn campout. All merit badge cards and rank advancements need to be turned into Mrs. Danen by Monday, 5/15 in order to be included.

Northern Tier High Adventure Camp - July 10-20 of 2018

Troop 1001 has made the deposit for one crew for Northern Tier Canoe Base for a 10 nights adventure July 10-20, 2018. The crew size is 8 and 5 boys and 3 adults indicted they wanted to go. Since the deadline of Feb 13 two additional boys have indicated they want to go. The troop will take names of those wanting to go and if there are 8 an additional trek will be organized. New Parents and Summer Camp Info Session - 5/1 at 7pm

New families and those with scouts participating in summer camp are encouraged to attend the Information Meeting on Monday May 1st at 7:00 pm at Trinity Bible Church.
 
This meeting will be take place during the regular troop meeting, while the boys work outdoors.  
 
We will review details and logistics for upcoming events:
  • Cottonwood Art Festival
  • May Campout at the Battleship Texas and Schlitterbahn
  • Summer Camp
And we will have a show and tell session to talk about:
  • Recommendations on gear the boys should and should not bring to summer camp.
  • General recommendations on gear for the other 10 campouts the troop does each year. 
New parents, this is an important meeting you don't want to miss.

Have you seen the Boys Life article 8 Amazing Scout Camps to Try This Summer?  It features Hale Scout Reservation, where Troop 1001 will go from June 25th to July 1st this summer.

If you still have not submitted your merit badge selections, or if you are still thinking about going with us to HSR, please email summercamp@troop1001.org or contact Mr. Esquivel as soon as possible.

Remember, on May 1 we will have our parent meeting for Summer Camp preparation, everything from gear to logistics will be discussed.

Also, don’t forget that all medical forms A, B, and C for scouts and adults attending must be current before going to summer camp.
