Snow Sports Merit Badge Opportunity

Are you planning to go skiing or snowboarding over Christmas or Spring Break?  Do you want to work on the elective Snow Sports Merit Badge?  If so, contact Mrs. Teagarden at jill@teagardenfamily.com or 214-629-1770. This is a self-guided merit badge opportunity.  You do not have to attend the troop ski trip to earn this badge.

Troop Caroling - December 16

Join us as we finish out the year with a fun evening of caroling and sweet treats. Families are invited to join the fun, too.
Please register to let us know you are attending AND if you are willing to transport scouts to Sweet Firefly after caroling. 

We will meet at 7 p.m. at Highland Springs Continual Care in the Fountain View building (see address below), carol until
about 8 p.m., then travel to Sweet Firefly for a end of year treat. Please sign up and indicate if you will need a ride.
Scouts who will not be traveling with their family can be dropped off at 7 p.m. at Highland Springs Fountain View building
and picked up at 8:30 at Sweet Firefly.

Derby Day - December 14

December 14th is the Day! Debry Day, that is. Join us for the  exciting and fun Derby Day at Erwin Park in McKinney. The address is Erwin Park Hilltop Pavilion 4300 County Road 1006, McKinney, 75071.

It is up to the families to arrange transportation to and from the event.

The schedule is as follows:

  • 10 a.m. derby car testing
  • 11:45 a.m. lunch
  • 1 p.m. race set up
  • 1:15 p.m. races begin
  • 5:15 p.m. wrap up

The troop will provide hamburgers and hotdogs while the families provide the sides, paper goods, tables, etc. Please use the signup genius to let us know what you are able to bring. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E084FABA92F4-troop2

Board of Review Training This Monday

Board of Review training Monday, Dec 2 at 7:15, for any adult in the troop that hasn't taken it.  With this training the adult can be on a            Board of Review for all the scout rank.  The troop needs more adults to have this training.

Austin (Ace) Lindsey's Eagle Scout Project

This Eagle Project is to renovate a section of the courtyard garden at Richardson North Junior High. The project will include removing dirt from the existing garden and replacing it with mulch and compost as well as installing 6 garden boxes (2 of which will be handicap accessible.) The project will benefit the Science and Special Education departments at Richardson North Junior High as both plan to use the garden for educational purposes.
