Adult Advisor Needed - May 31 Seabase St. Croix Scuba Adventure

Venture Crew 890 needs an adult adviser for a Sea Base, St. Croix Scuba adventure, May 31-Jun 7.  Need to be open water scuba certified; total cost is $1800.  For information contact Robert Squyres, 972-699-0339 rtsquyres@sncglobal.net  Also, there is space for 1 scout in the crew. 

BSA Bankruptcy Information

As many of you have heard by now, our national BSA organization has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. My initial thought/question was...how does this impact our program at a local level? We are being told that there will be little to no impact at this time. Circle Ten and all of the local BSA councils across the country are legally separate entities. That being said, I certainly do not profess to be an expert on this matter. I am keeping informed through various channels, but here are two that I thought that I would share with all of you.

Spring Break MBU at Camp Wisdom registration is NOW OPEN!

Circle Ten is pleased to offer this event in an all new format. They will be offering two different sessions; one on March 7 and a second one one week later on March 14. Each Saturday will offer the same set of merit badge classes. Depending on the courses a Scout selects, Scouts may take up to two merit badges per event. Cost for either weekend is $25 and includes lunch. Scouts can attend both, but they will need to register for each one individually. Check in for both events will start at 8:00 a.m. and the day should conclude around 4:00 p.m. that afternoon. Classes being offered include:

Conservation Project - 2/29 by Park Hill JH

Come out and help the Prestonwood Homeowners Association with the annual Kiowa Creek clean up and receive conservation project hours.

We hope to see you Saturday morning February 29 from 9:00-11:00 am on Shadybank near the corner of La Manga (next to the book depository), two blocks south of Park Hill Junior High. Look for the tent and table. Please wear your Class B uniform, closed toe shoes, long pants, long sleeves and heavy duty gloves.
