BSA Adult Leader Training / Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills

Adult leader training course is for any interested adult to explain and clarify the aims and methods of scouting. The course addresses how and why scouting works. This is a two-part course, the first part in a classroom setting (over 2 evenings) and the second part is in the field at a hands-on campout at Camp Wisdom (one day, one night).  Both parts are required to be considered a fully trained adult leader.  Fee = $40.  7 pm -9:30 pm Wednesday September 11 and September 18 for the classroom part. Campout is September 28 & 29.  Also, will be available in 2020 on 3/11, 3/18, and 3/28-29.  The troop strongly encourages every parent in the troop take these two courses and will reimburse all first year scout’s parents for the cost after they complete the courses.

Conservation Project: Canyon Creek Cleanup

Service Hours Opportunity - THIS SATURDAY

Will Gantt made an announcement about a Troop Conservation project at the meeting on Monday.  Any scout needing conservation service hours (Star Scouts) or regular service hours for their next rank advancement may want to participate in this service project.
 
Date:  Saturday, August 24, 2019
Time: 9:00 am (sharp) until 12:00 noon
Location: Foxboro Park (south of Renner on Plano Road)

September campout – canoeing and fishing at Kerr Scout Ranch at Slippery Falls

Registration is now open! Kerr Scout Ranch highlights include a fishing pond, a lake for canoeing and kayaking and the falls for swimming, playing and even more fishing. Our campsite is located close to the showers and restroom facilities.

Adults - this is a fun location and would be a great campout to consider.

Drivers - please include the number of seatbelts available for planning purposes.
