Memorial Day on the USS Lexington

Posted on Apr 25 2019 - 9:16pm

Sleep on a real US aircraft carrier, May 24-27, 2019

We have a chartered bus to take the Scouts and adults to Corpus Christi, leaving late Friday night arriving in time for breakfast Saturday morning. After breakfast, we will head to the beach for a sand castle class and teambuilding project, then lunch and on to the USS Lexington for a fun filled day exploring. Court of Honor is Sunday evening and the team is working though the balance of the Sunday plans.

Money Monday is THIS COMING MONDAY, April 29.  We need a final count by 6 p.m. Monday to book our plans and  schedule buses. We need 1:5 chaperone ratio. Please consider going along and sleeping on the aircraft carrier – there is A/C and we will have a ton of activities planned.

Fees include all meals and group activities (there will be additional activities available at your discretion, that will incur additional costs...these will be optional). If you are interested in hotel accommodations, please contact Michelle Jackson. She will explore a small room block at the Omni, if we have enough people interested.

Action items:

  • Please register and pay $100 deposit by April 29. We anticipate the total cost per person to be around $265. Final payment will be due May 13.
  • We need adults to chaperone. Please register as soon as possible.

Flag Season 2019 Route Preparation - 4/27 @ 8:30am

Posted on Apr 25 2019 - 9:15pm

When: Saturday, April 27th, 8:30 am to 11:30 am (Approximately – We’ve never done this before.)

Where: Meet @ Trinity Bible Church

Scouts and parents will meet at Trinity Bible Church to get the scouts with their assigned driver.  Scouts should wear their Class B uniform (adults as well, if you have the Troop 1001 green T-shirt).  We'll have bottled water to help everyone stay hydrated.  Unlike other Flag Program events, which are fund raising events for the troop, the proceeds from this event will go to the individual's Scout Account and can be used to help pay for summer camp, etc.  The scouts participating can earn about $50 (possibly more depending on the number of flag locations prepped.)

Scouts & Parents, please sign up under one of the seven work groups at the website below.
