Trail to First Class -- Starting this Monday 9/25 -- 6:30PM at TBC

Trail to first class sessions will start this coming Monday 9/25. This session is specifically for youth that have not achieved the rank of scout. Additional sessions will be scheduled to target specific ranks or requirements. Keep an eye on the calendar. More dates will be announced as the youth leaders of the PLC (Patrol Leaders' Council) coordinate upcoming sessions.

Winter Camp overview (prior to the merit badge counselor training) -- September 25th

September 25 – Winter Camp overview prior to the merit badge counselor training. Two for one deal!

We will cover the winter camp general itinerary, costs, sample packing list, merit badge requirements, adult volunteer needs and more. Potential merit badge classes: signs, signals, codes; rifle; aviation; citizenship and society; citizenship and community; first aid; leatherwork; architecture; art and more.  We will also hold mop ups over lunch and spend Sunday afternoon on a conservation project.

Reregistration Fees (Annual Dues) are due now

Attention parents - It is time to pay the reregistration fees (annual dues) for the 2023-2024 school year. Please pay as soon as you are able, but by 9/25 at the latest.
For adults and scouts renewing with the Troop, adult dues are $80 and scout dues are $150.
 
Online payment via Paypal can be found on the Troop 1001 website under "Online Payments" HERE. Other options for payments are to provide a check/cash and drop it in the lock box in the Scout room or give it to Mr. Casey Fuld, the Troop Treasurer. If you would like to use your scout's troop fundraising account, please email Mr. Fuld (treasurer@troop1001.org).
 
For NEW adults registering with BSA and the Troop, we would love this!  Please:
--1) complete Youth Protection Training at YPT HERE , and
--2) submit an application to BSA at BSA REGISTRATION.
Once these steps are taken, we will reach out to you regarding payment. Remember that adults not registered with BSA and the Troop WILL NOT be allowed to camp with the troop per BSA rules - no exceptions.

Troop 1001 awards its 211th Eagle Scout Rank to Ethan Kilgard

Congratulations to Ethan Kilgard for earning his Eagle Scout Rank! He is number 211 on the Troop's Eagle Honor Roll. A huge THANK YOU to Kate Ogden, Kelly Vinton, Jeff Sharrock, Bill Sproull, Michelle Jackson, and Dennis Weigel (our District Representative) for serving on Ethan's Eagle Board of Review committee!

High Adventure for 2023-2024 -- Info meeting Sept 20

Attention all scouts in 7th grade and above (and their parents).
 
Wednesday, Sept 20 at 7:00-8:15 PM at TBC there will be a meeting for scouts and parents interested in High Adventure possibilities for 2023-24. The age requirement is 8th grade for the 2023 programs and 7th grade for the 2024 programs. The first part will be brief reports from the troop's recent High Adventures crews and then what is available for 2023-24 at all the High Adventure bases. The High Adventure handout from the GDX parent meeting will be reviewed with some additional programs added.  We will be available afterwards for additional questions. Patriot Day 2023 Flags In (Retrieval)

Scouts and parents will meet at Trinity Bible at 8:30 am on Saturday,  September 16th to get the scouts with their assigned driver.  Then, the driver and scouts will pick up flags then transport them to the Flag Trailer (420 N Grove) for storage. 

Please sign up under your patrol leader's name.  If his patrol is full please sign up under another Patrol

Scouts please wear your Class B uniform.  Adults if you have a green Troop 1001 T-shirt please wear it.

Donuts will be provided to start us off and please bring water to help everyone stay hydrated.  We'll end the event with some ice cream.
