Boys certainly grow fast. Luckily, we have our clothes closet. So, if you are looking for some lovingly passed along items, come check out the middle cabinet in the troop room.

Troopmaster Access

Posted on Sep 4 2023 - 9:26pm
Troop 1001 Parents,

A quick reminder for you.

Our troop uses TroopMaster to track advancement, camping, service hours and more!  While you have always been able to access your scout’s advancement through our separate www.Troop1001.org website (find your scout in the Roster and click on their Rank), you can also use the TroopMaster portal to review two things you don’t currently get through the web site:
  1. Access to partially completed merit badge information
  2. Access to advancement information through a smartphone app
Please note...You will still need to access our troop web site for everything else (e.g. calendar, campout signup).  Therefore, if you choose to use the TroopMaster portal, you will need to keep track of two sets of logins.  There is no way to synchronize the two logins.

You should have already received an invitation to TroopMaster.  First, check your Inbox (and SPAM folder) for an email from DoNotReply@troopmaster.email with the subject “TroopMaster Web Account Settings.”  If you cannot find the email or need your login credentials reset, please send an email to webmaster@troop1001.org and I will manually reset them for you and resend the email.

Bookmark this link to quickly access TroopMaster using any web browser: https://tmweb.troopmaster.com/mysite/TM50872

Once you’ve logged in through a browser and changed your password, download the smartphone app by searching for “TM Mobile” in the Apple or Google app stores.

The first time you use the mobile application, it will ask you to complete three steps:
   (1) Select which version of TroopMaster Web we use?  Pick 'TroopMaster Web 2.0'.
   (2) You must select the the state (TX), and Troop Number (1001) by scrolling thru a pick list, and
   (3) enter your UserID and Password, then click 'Save Changes' to finalize the settings.  It will then ask you to 'Sync' so you can view the latest data.  Once complete, click the 'Home' icon and you should be able to explore and view your Scout's progress.

I hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Ben Jacob's Eagle Project

Posted on Aug 31 2023 - 1:54pm

My name is Ben Jacob, I am currently a Senior at Plano Senior High School. I’ve been a member of Boy Scout Troop 1001 in Richardson, Texas since 2017 and I’m very excited to be starting my Eagle Scout Service Project. This project will be serving the Adaptive Training Foundation, a non-profit whose mission is to empower the human athlete, restore hope through movement, and redefine the limits of individuals with disabilities. This non-profit has truly made a life changing difference in many different people’s lives including my own and I am beyond excited to have an opportunity to give back to this organization. This non-profit offers customized adaptive training and mental health support to veterans and civilians with life-altering injuries.

A little bit about the project: The project will be building customized storage lockers for a therapy room for the gym. The "ReCharge Room" is the therapy room inside the gym where the class of athletes sits together and are taken through mindfulness, breathing work, and meditation before and after each workout. The storage lockers being built for this project will be a much needed piece of furniture for the ReCharge Room that will include storage cubbies for each of the athletes as well as space for the A/V equipment to be mounted in a safe way and allow safe movement throughout the room.

Not only will this project benefit the athletes and staff of the Adaptive Training Foundation, but it will allow the Scouts involved in building the project to fulfill part of the Scout Oath which challenges them to ‘do my best to do my duty to God and my country’. The majority of the athletes served at ATF are veterans, so this project provides an incredible opportunity to give back to those who sacrificed so much to ensure our country’s freedom.

Please consider donating and/or volunteering on this project as it would go a long way to helping ATF further their impact and growing the character of the young men and women working on this.

If you would like to donate here is the GoFundMe link: ReCharge Renovation

My workdays are Saturday September 2nd and Monday September 4th.  Please sign up for a shift (or two) HERE.

Thank you
