Troop swim test Tuesday June 9 from 6-8pm

Posted on Jun 5 2020 - 10:56am
Completion of a BSA Swim Test is required prior to participation in any aquatic activity with the Troop, and must be completed annually.  If you are planning to attend Summer Camp, you will need this swim test completed in order to participate in pool and/or lakefront activities.  Even if you’re not interested in swimming while at camp, it’s still important to pass the BSA swimmer’s test.  First Class requirement 6a makes it mandatory for scouts to complete the BSA swim test, and the test is a requirement for several MBs.   In addition, this swim test will be applicable for the upcoming year for any canoeing or other activity with the Troop.  Adults planning to participate in any aquatics activity must also complete the swim test

We have set up the Troop swim test for Tuesday June 9 from 6-8pm at:

Jewish Community Center of Dallas

Working on Merit Badges while Social Distancing

Posted on May 28 2020 - 9:43pm

Hello Troop 1001!

We hope that you are all doing well and remaining productive during this time at home with your families. There have been a few questions about Scouts working on Merit Badges, so we thought that it would make sense to layout a quick and easy process for everyone to keep things moving forward.

1. Scouts, please e-mail your Patrol Advisor or Mr. Otte to get approval to work on a merit badge. Save this email approval for your records.

2. Contact a Merit Badge Counselor and ask them to work with you to complete the requirements. Click HERE for our current list of counselors. You may also find an approved counselor outside of the Troop.
