Circle Ten Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Posted on Mar 1 2023 - 11:52pm

You have been invited to attend the Circle Ten Youth Mental Health First Aid Training!

Why Youth Mental Health First Aid? Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.

Save the date: Summer Camp June 18-24, 2023!

Be sure to put it on your calendar!  Adults will be needed for the week at camp as well as to join subcommittees for planning.  If you have any questions, please reach out to David Wang.

Every scout deserves a trained leader!

Posted on Feb 24 2023 - 1:20am
There are a LOT of training opportunities available to help you become the trained leader that our scouts deserve.

Log in to Your My.Scouting Account (where you took the YPT - Youth Protection Training) HERE to find other valuable online training courses.

When you are on the my.scouting.org site, look for the BSA LEARN CENTER (you may need to scroll down the page). Click on the BSA LEARN CENTER icon, and from there you can select your position and a learning plan will be created for you. The plan includes modules that are designed to allow you to complete them at your own pace.

You could select a learning path or there are plenty of stand alone online courses to choose from. As an active adult in the troop,  you are a COMMITTEE MEMBER and may even have a specific job role. There is video specific training for committee members and even a short 10 minute video of the Aims & Methods of Scouting.
