GoFundMe to Support Warm Indoor Winter Troop 1001 Meetings

Posted on Dec 17 2020 - 6:05pm

Parents and friends of Troop 1001,

Due to the COVID restrictions Trinity Bible Church has in place, we are currently unable to enter the church and are holding troop meetings in the church parking lot. Thankfully, we have found a place large enough for us to safely meet indoors, but we have to rent it. We will be holding meetings there from December to March while the weather is too cold for outdoor gatherings.

During indoor meetings we will be following Circle 10's COVID guidelines to ensure everyone's safety and wellbeing. These precautions include temperature checks at the door, mandatory mask wearing and social distancing at all times.

In an effort to keep our expenses contained due to a lack of fundraising opportunities this year,  we are asking parents and former members of Troop 1001 to help us raise the funds to offset the cost of renting the space. If you are able to make a donation of any size, we would greatly appreciate it.

Every Scout Deserves A Trained Leader...Adults: Sign Up For Wood Badge TODAY! (links at end of article)

Posted on Dec 10 2020 - 7:52am

What is Wood Badge?

Reflecting the best of nearly a century of Scouting experience, Wood Badge draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles and successful organizations throughout the country.

Wood Badge training was begun by Baden Powell in 1919 as a way to insure that the leaders of Scout troops were properly trained. Since then Wood Badge has been held worldwide, providing advanced leadership training to thousands of Scout leaders.

Wood Badge builds upon the best traditions and experiences of the Boy Scouts of America and also draws from a wide range of courses within and beyond the bounds of Scouting to present the latest in leadership theory and team development

Sea Base Openings - GOING FAST

Posted on Nov 20 2020 - 8:50am
Sea Base is the BSA High Adventure camp in the Florida Keys.  The adventures there are an amazing experience you don't want to miss.  This opportunity is open to the entire Troop one last time before we look outside the Troop...

We currently have 4 openings for the spring break 2021 Sea Base trip...leaving March 13th, returning March 21st. We recently had a few people decide not to go, creating a rare opportunity for others.

Scouts 13 or older by that date are eligible, and adult leaders are also welcome.

Please let me know by THIS FRIDAY, Nov. 20th  if you may be interested. We need to finalize travel plans.

Thanks!

Glenn
