Cinco de Mayo Themed TBC Work Day - May 5 from 8AM to 12PM

Join TBC for their quarterly work day complete with chips & salsa, guacamole, a piñata and more! During the work day there will be a diverse list of projects for the skilled and unskilled alike. This day is a great way to serve with your family, small group or fellow attendees in a fun and festive manner. Join us for a few hours or stay as long as you like. We look forward to seeing you there and GRACIAS!

Sea Base Scuba Adventure - Spring Break 2019

UPDATE: At this time, we have filled 3 crews (24 campers!) and do not have any available spots.  I am maintaining a wait list though, and if there is sufficient interest we have the ability to add another crew, so please let me know if you're interested in diving with us.

Troop 1001 will be doing the Sea Base Scuba Adventure over spring break of 2019, March 10-17.  This coincides with the confirmed spring breaks for both Richardson and Plano ISDs.  Campers should plan on leaving the morning of Saturday March 9, 2019 and not returning until late Sunday, March 17.

We are getting ready and need your help. Scouts attending summer camp please review available Merit Badge options and requirements in this file and email your selections to Mr. Esquivel using the following format. You can also print this, complete all fields and bring it to the April 9 Troop meeting:

Some of you have already started to send your selections, thank you! But please note that we are requesting a second choice of MB for each period, this is important in case your top choice is full at the time of registration.
 
Our first year scouts are highly encouraged to take advantage of the Eaglebound program. Camp Cris Dobbins is offering 3 possible scenarios:
  1. Work on Tenderfoot requirements during Periods 1 & 2, and 1st & 2nd Class requirements during Periods 3, 4, and 5.
  2. Work on Tenderfoot requirements during Periods 1 & 2, and other Merit Badges during Periods  3, 4, and 5. 

Summer Camp Update

We hope you are getting excited as we look forward to a great summer camp this year.  As camp approaches, there are many deadlines to meet and an important one is your choices for Merit Badges.  There are more than 50 MB's to choose from, please review this file and email or visit with Mr. Esquivel during the Troop meetings for any clarifications and to record your selections. We will need your MB choices no later than April 9.  

Northern Trail District Camporee - March 23-25, 2018

Our next campout is the annual Camporee Boy Scouting competition, and Troop 1001 is in it to win it.  As in recent years, Camporee will be held at Camp James Ray, and this years Camporee theme is "Shipwrecked" and will include tons of fun games, activities, and of course competitions for the scouts.  Additional details available here.  Stay tuned for more details, but mark your calendars. 

The permission slip has been attached to this article. We've opened registration early and hope all of our scouts are able to make it!

Clothes Closet

The clothes closet is full!

 Lots of shorts, pants, and activity shirts in youth sizes.

Belts, assorted sizes of boots and rain gear, some adult

shirts and pants are available too.

Feel free to grab anything you might need for you or your

scout!  Gently used donations always accepted!
